Comparison of several rubber properties commonly used in rubber expansion joints

The rubber with the best oil resistance is fluorine rubber expansion joint, the best choice for heat resistance is EPDM expansion joint, and the best wear resistance is NBR expansion joint
Comparison of several rubber properties commonly used in rubber expansion joints

Performance comparison of nitrile rubber (NBR), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) rubber, ethylene propylene rubber (EPDM), neoprene (CR), and fluororubber (Fluoroelastomer, FKM):

Oil resistance:

FKM: Has excellent oil resistance.

NBR: It has good oil resistance and is suitable for mediums that are in contact with oil or contain oil.

CR: Good oil resistance.

EPDM: General oil resistance.

Heat resistance:

PTFE: has good high temperature resistance, stable performance at high temperature, generally can reach -200°C to 260°C. It can replace Hyperon rubber. However, ptfe rubber is more expensive and is generally suitable as a pfte lining.

EPDM: Suitable for temperature range -40°C to 150°C, with good thermal stability. Only consider the heat resistance performance, do not consider the corrosion resistance, you can choose EPDM rubber. It is the best choice for high temperature resistant rubber.

Corrosion resistance:

PTFE: Excellent chemical resistance, has a wide range of corrosion resistance, and can resist the corrosion of strong acids, strong alkalis and most organic solvents.

Wear resistance:

NBR: Good abrasion and tear resistance. Only consider wear resistance NBR rubber is your best

Which rubber to choose can be based on the application field of the rubber expansion joint, the medium in the pipeline, and the working environment.
